Occupational Therapy with Arts-Based Approaches
Arts-based sessions for those who find communication easier without words
Tessa provides neuroaffirming support as a qualified occupational therapist. Her postgraduate Art Psychotherapy education informs her clinical reasoning, while maintaining the focus on professional occupational therapy delivery. Creative activities are entirely optional and selected through collaborative assessment.
What arts-based occupational therapy is
A clinical approach where creativity serves as a tool for neuroaffirming support, communication, and processing identity, managed by a qualified OT.
Creative options
Collaborative exploration through arts and materials to support self-expression, regulation, and meaningful participation in daily life.
Non-creative options
Therapy can also be entirely verbal or focus on sensory alternatives; authentic exploration is valued far above artistic outcomes.
How Tessa works
Tessa integrates postgraduate education with clinical OT reasoning to deliver flexible, interest-led support for adolescents and gender-diverse adults.
Support through creativity and meaningful occupation
Creativity can provide a different way of exploring experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Through art making, journalling, photography, storytelling, collage, visual goal setting, and other creative activities, individuals can develop greater self-awareness, emotional insight, confidence, and engagement in everyday life.
