A reflective approach to arts-based practice.

Tessa is an experienced mental health occupational therapist, educator, and supervisor. Her work is deeply informed by neuroaffirming, LGBTQIA+, and queer-affirming practice, emphasizing identity and belonging for complex adolescents and young adults.

She helps OTs understand why, when and how to use creative occupations within a scope that is intentionally occupation-focused and neuroaffirming.

Teaching and supervision here are reflective rather than prescriptive, grounded in clinical reasoning and ethics. There is rarely one correct script; the goal is deeper thinking, understanding the person in context, and making intentional decisions to support sustainable practice.
