Paediatric Occupational Therapist
We have an exciting opportunity to welcome an experienced Occupational Therapist into our team in Geelong.

Our Mindful Youth is an Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy and Counselling clinic that provides therapy supports to clients in Geelong and near surrounding areas, with a focus on emotional wellbeing, social interaction and mental health.

We are a small team of ten who work collaboratively together both in our clinic and from home, and highly value empathetic, creative and independent clinicians who have a passion for mental health and inclusion.
About the role
The successful candidate will deliver mental health OT services in a community setting across Geelong and surrounding areas to a paediatric and youth mental health caseload within the NDIS.
This is a casual Occupational Therapist role that commences in July 2023. The successful candidate will have at least five years experience within an OT role, and will the drive, passion and lifestyle required to work flexibly across their work week. This would be ideal for someone who has other family and / or life commitments, and would prefer to work around 15 - 20 hours (or a caseload of your choice) per week on days and times of their choice.

You will be

Directly supervised by a senior Occupational Therapist

Trained and further supported to independently facilitate client assessment and intervention within the space best suited to our clients.

Completing functional capacity assessments

Implementing a holistic, neurodivergent affirming and person-centered approach, while collaborating with clients, their families, and their care teams.

Practicing in the areas of Mental Health, Early Intervention, Activities of Daily Living, Play therapy, arts and nature based therapy, Sensory Modulation, and Exercise.

Writing reports (including assessment and summary reports) and therapy plans (although report writing is not a large focus at our business and we prioritise time spent in 1:1 therapy sessions vs a large clinical admin load.

Participating in continuous professional development towards expanding and developing your clinical knowledge and skills. Our Mindful Youth will give you a total of $1500 towards supporting your continued learning.

Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy

Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)

Valid Australian Driver's License (with full comprehensive insurance)

Cleared Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police History Check

Holds Allied Health Practioner's insurance, including professional indemnity and public liability cover
